RcG Vs Cloaker

Description

My first moments playing a tabletop rpg. We fought a large group of cloakers, which are a sort of evil flying manta ray that pretends to be a cape so it can bite your head off.

I started this drawing a very long time ago, left it for months, redrew RcG's upper half entirely, and covered the right side of the page in pencil marks. That damn cloaker was a pain to figure out.
Well, I gave it a shot again yesterday, and figured that having it recoil backwards after being shot three times would both make it look better, make it easier to draw, and fit properly on the page (sadly that still didn't make it all fit on the scanner).
Getting the cloaker's wing(?) folds and rib structure was fun, and the face didn't change much since the original sketch, for better or for worse. I've been coming back to this thing for so long it is hard to tell.
Originally, RcG's Raincoat went to the bottom of the page, and it was awful. Fitting his feet in and getting a decent leg posture made it look so much better. Something still feels off about his torso(maybe too short and dwarfy), and I know the shield is kinda meh and oddly placed, but all in all I'm glad with how it eventually turned out. I wanted to draw more cloakers flying towards him, but at this point it did not feel worth it.
The tiny little Nierra fighting in the distance (alkonium.deviantart.com/ 's character) was something I tossed in long ago, and I hadn't the heart to remove it even though it looks funny.

I have another drawing in the works involving the GoG/AF ghosts-of-gyark.deviantart.com… campaigns, but damn, catfolk and sniper rifles are a pain to draw. That may take awhile.
I also now have a graphics tablet (yay for Christmas) so maybe I'll start something fun on that.

That cloaker is BOSS.  Those expressions too.  Yeah, the torso does seem a bit dwarfy, probably because of the way it is concealed by the raincoat, you have no anatomical or armor reference points to determine the right dimensions.
